The bad...

The Pentagon's inspector general is refusing a bipartisan congressional request to investigate the slowdown of the Starshield network that disabled Ukraine's defensive capabilities during a massive Russian attack last month. The Trump regime has offered conflicting accounts of who is responsible for those disruptions.

It is concerning that the Inspector General has apparently decided not to investigate satellite communication disruptions that Ukraine relies on to protect its civilians.

The Trump Administration and SpaceX have provided conflicting accounts of what led to those disruptions...There must be an independent accounting and review to determine responsibility and prevent this from happening in the future.

The ugly...

Get ready for hell
Get ready for hell

Lawrence Murphy (Played by Jack Palance) warns John Tunstall's Regulators to "Get ready for hell" in the 1988 movie, Young Guns.

The midterm elections officially end Tuesday, November 3. Here's what to expect, regardless of the outcome:

  1. US will most likely resume strikes against Iran. Trump will try to end the war quickly through a massive aerial assault on Iran that will certainly include blatant war crimes and attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, if not all-out nuclear war. His efforts will not end the war because the U.S. will run out of munitions and the renewed assault will only increase Iran's resolve to defend itself. Be ready for Iran's counter-attacks and the possible escalation of the war from Iran's allies. Be ready for gas prices to skyrocket, though this will be less traumatic than the coming slaughter.
  2. The Trump regime will certainly dispute the election results in any race where the Republican candidate does not win. The regime will declare the results invalid, may refuse to relinquish Congressional seats in January, and may very likely kick off another insurrection to try to prevent the duly elected representatives from taking office. The Trump regime will try tie up newly-elected MOCs in bogus court cases on any charge they can think of to try to discredit them or delay their swearing in.
  3. Say goodbye to any immigrants you know, whether they are here legally or not. The Trump regime will use the election results to double or triple their assault on immigration. They will blame immigrants for "destroying our democracy" and will use that to increase the large-scale deportation of anyone with the "wrong" skin color, regardless of their immigration status.
  4. Be ready for Trump's insanity to reach new heights. The midterms are the last opportunity the American people have to voice their opposition to Donny 2-Dolls and the Trump regime. With no more upcoming elections for the remainder of his term of office, Trump will go completely off the rails and double his efforts to destroy our democracy in the hope that he can completely dismantle the entire system before his current presidential term expires. There is simply no legal path for him to remain in office after his term ends (if he survives that long), but that doesn't mean he's planning to leave. He will make use of the bunker under the White House to hide in and he will try to use our military to defend him from anyone who tries to get him out so the next president can take office.

"But wait," you say, "Won't the Democrats fix everything if they win the elections?" Sorry to disappoint you, but the answer is "No." While I'm hoping for a blue wave to flip both the House and Senate, that in and of itself is not going to fix our problems. The most important thing the Democratic Party can do is relentlessly pursue justice against the entire Trump regime and its allies. I'm talking Nuremberg 2.0 levels of justice. I don't believe the Party will deliver that, but I'm hopeful they will. But even if they are able to flip both chambers of Congress, and even if they are allowed to take the seats they won in January, and even if the Democratic Party devotes itself wholeheartedly to rooting out this evil, it would take years to bring even the key players in this disastrous regime to justice. In the meantime, we'll still have to deal with Trump's growing insanity and desperation as he tries to cling to power and evade justice.

The stupid...

Trump suing Alaska: But only if his preferred candidate loses the race [Link]
Donny 2-Dolls

Donny 2-Dolls

Donny 2-Dolls ordered the DOJ to block certification of the Alaska U.S. Senate election results unless his preferred candidate wins the race. The administration claims that this move will help ensure election integrity because both candidates for the state's Senate seat have similar names: Republican Dan Sullivan and independent candidate Daniel J. Sullivan.

This is a blatant attempt by the federal government to meddle in state electoral processes. Both names have been on the final ballot since it was set months ago, and the state's Supreme Court has already weighed in on the issue, saying there is nothing wrong with both candidates running.

The Trump regime is claiming that having both names on the ballot is an attempt to trick voters into voting for the wrong candidate. But the regime is saying that the election results should only be invalidated if the Republican Dan Sullivan loses. But if the problem is voter confusion, why not invalidate the results either way? If Republican voters can be fooled into voting for Daniel J Sullivan, why is it less likely that independent or Democratic voters might be fooled into voting for Dan Sullivan? If the problem is voter confusion, neither outcome would be valid. If the problem is corruption, then only the regime's unwanted outcome is considered invalid.

Vote

The midterm elections are open for early voting in most states, but the final day of voting will be Tuesday, November 3. It may take a few days for all of the votes to be officially counted in every race. But even when the votes are all tallied, the new Members of Congress will not take office until January 3, 2027. Until then, Congress is in what is known as a "lame duck" session, as MOCs who were not re-elected have no incentive to act on any legislation in this period, and this is often a period where little is accomplished.

Congress will have to pass some sort of spending bill to fund the government past December 11, when current funding runs out. What this battle looks like will probably depend on how the election turned out. If Democrats are going to flip one or both chambers of Congress, the Republicans might make a last ditch effort to try to pass funding for their pet projects before they lose the majority. But most likely, there will be a lot of arguments and in the end, Congress will approve a spending bill that kicks the can down the road to mid- or late-January.

If Republicans don't do well in the election, we can expect the Trump regime to try to overturn the election results. They have already begun the process by filing a suit to prematurely and conditionally reject the results of Alaska's senate rate. They will continue to lie about the scale of illegal voting by non-citizens, despite the fact that this has repeatedly been shown to be a minor problem that does not affect the outcome of elections.
