The good...

After Supreme Court rules Trump's tariffs illegal, businesses apply for refunds [Link]

Last April, Donny 2-Dolls announced that he was imposing sweeping tariffs on almost every country in the world, including islands populated only by penguins. The president does not have authority to impose tariffs...that power belongs to Congress. But Trump has never been one to let his actions be constrained by the law, so he did it anyway in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States.

After many court challenges, the issue finally trickled up to the Supreme Court, which confirmed that the tariffs were, in fact, illegal and must be ended. Based on this ruling, the U.S. Court of International Trade determined that companies that paid these tariffs are eligible for refunds of the money they spent on Trump's illegal scheme. About $166 billion is available to be refunded to more than 330,000 U.S. importers who had to pay the tariffs.

The costs of these tariffs were ultimately passed on to consumers, but there is no provision for consumers who have paid higher prices for the goods they've purchased over the past year (and the goods sitting in warehouses waiting to be purchased in the future) to receive any compensation for the added costs they've paid.

Virginia joins 2026 gerrymandering wars with new voter-approved map [Link]

This week, voters in Virginia approved a new Congressional district map that is likely to flip four of the state's U.S. House seats Democratic in the 2026 midterms. Virginia is the latest (and likely the last) state to update its congressional district maps in response to Donny 2-Dolls' demand that his lapdogs in Texas revise their districts to give him more Republican bootlickers in the upcoming midterms.

The following states have updated their maps to favor certain parties in the 2026 midterms. At least 5 other states have attempted to redraw their district maps, but have not been able to get their changes approved.

State Seats flipped New map favors...
Texas 5 Republican Party
Missouri 1 Republican Party
North Carolina 1 Republican Party
Ohio 2 Republican Party
California 5 Democratic Party
Utah 1 Democratic Party
Virginia 4 Democratic Party

The "seats flipped" listed here is only an expected outcome. The Trump regime continues to lose favor among its base, especially due to the unwanted war with Iran. But the Democratic Party is also remarkably unpopular at the moment, mostly due to their ineffective opposition to the Trump regime. None of these outcomes are certain by any means.

The bad...

FBI and Justice Department workforce depleted [Link]
Join Us: We are hiring

Government agencies like the FBI and Justice Department have become dangerously depleted of their staff. Over the past year, the Trump regime fired federal workers in every government department in a failed attempt to increase government efficiency. Staff members believed to be hired under DEI initiatives were ruthlessly fired. Waves of resignations have swept the federal government as staff members refuse to work under this corrupt regime. The few staff members hired over the past years have been hired for their loyalty to the regime rather than their qualifications, and many have not remained employed due to incompetence.

To compensate, the FBI and Justice Department have lowered job requirements for applicants and slashed onboarding training for new hires. Prosecutors for the Justice Department are being hired right out of law school with no experience practicing law. The FBI is promoting inexperienced employees to positions of leadership.

Russia raking in profits as oil sanctions remain lifted [Link]
Russian oil in the EU

When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the United States, the European Union, and many other western countries stopped buying Russian oil to deprive the Russian government of money needed to pay for their ongoing invasion. Last month, the United States waived the enforcement of some of those sanctions in an effort to boost the global oil supply after Iran shut down the flow of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz in response to the war the United States and Israel initiated. This week, the Trump regime has extended those waivers for an additional 30 days.

With the sanctions against its oil partially lifted, Russia has been raking in the profits from its own oil sales around the world. During the previous waiver period, Russia was able to increase its spending on its war with Ukraine by about $10 billion. With the waivers extended, Russia will continue to see increased revenue from oil that it can spend on the Ukraine front.

The ugly...

U.S. continues illegal killing spree in the Caribbean [Link]
Boat targeted in international waters

U.S. military targets and destroys a water craft in the Caribbean Sea.

The United States has not stopped destroying non-military boats in the Caribbean, and continues to use unproven claims that these short-range vessels are bringing drugs to the United States, which is well over 1,200 miles away, with countless other possible destinations along the route.

At least 181 people have been killed without being tried for, let alone convicted of, any crime. While the government claims these people were smuggling drugs, no evidence has been provided that these killings have anything to do with the drug trade, and even if they did, smuggling drugs does not qualify for the death penalty. These illegal executions have taken place in international waters, far from the jurisdiction of the United States.

This week's top resignations [Link]
Left: Navy Secretary John Phelan, Right: House Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL)

Left: Navy Secretary John Phelan
Right: House Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL).

John Phelan, the Secretary of the Navy, suddenly announced his resignation in the middle of the war against Iran. Phelan did not provide a reason for his resignation. He was appointed to his position by Trump despite the fact he has neither served in the military nor held any type of leadership role in the service, but he was a major donor to Trump's campaign. He will be replaced by Undersecretary Hung Cao, a Trump loyalist and Navy combat veteran with 25 years of service. Phelan is the first head of a military service to be replaced by the regime since Donny 2-Dolls took office in 2025. But he is only one of many top Pentagon leaders who have been replaced under this regime.

U.S. House Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) has resigned her seat in Congress. Like Swalwell (D-CA) and Gonzales (R-TX) last week, Cherfilus-McCormick resigned just before the House Ethics Committee could punish her for violating 25 House ethics rules including financial fraud and money laundering. She still faces criminal charges, but with her resignation, the House Ethics Committee loses its jurisdiction over her. So, basically, she pulled a "you can't fire me because I quit" move on the House after the committee spent two years investigating her at the taxpayers' expense.
