Our Vision
Preamble to the United States Constitution:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Our vision statement—"Free the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union."—is a deliberate play on the words of this preamble, which we hold in the utmost reverence along with the rest of the Constitution. We have taken the first two fragments of the preamble, replaced "We" with "Free," and ended with a period to transform it into an imperative. This is our call to action: "Free the people of the United States." Why? "In order to form a more perfect union."
The people of this nation—and of any nation—must be free to establish a legitimate government that truly serves them. When that freedom is threatened, the people must act to restore it.
Aren't we already free?
No. People are not free when they are governed by a tyrant, a dictator, a fascist regime, or an oligarchy. The current government of the United States fits any of these definitions. We call for for people to be freed—not only from an unconstitutional governing body, but also from their own apathy and complacency.
We did not reach this breaking point by chance or by misfortune. The people of the United States have taken freedom for granted for too long, and as a result, we are on the verge of losing it forever. We must free ourselves from inaction just as we must free ourselves from the actions taken by the authoritarian regime currently in power.
This is the essence of democracy: The people are the ultimate source of power and authority, but they must act to preserve their rights and liberties. This is the spirit of our vision statement.
