When the "Disgraced Flag of the United States of America" flies, it sends a warning to the United States. This simple flag makes a simple statement:

We respect the founding principles of the United States of America, but are embarrassed by and ashamed of the country's current actions.

For the people:
It is a flag of protest. A flag of dissent. A flag of outrage. And it is a call to action for all patriots.

For the government:
It is a flag of warning. A flag of imminent danger. It says, "you've crossed the line, and your people are not going to stand for it."

When to Fly the Disgraced Flag

This flag is appropriate to fly any time you wish to indicate that the United States is engaged in actions or activities that are not in alignment with its founding principles, outlined in the Charters of Freedom. Chief among these principles are the separation of powers, the rule of law, and the fundamental rights of all people.

This flag is not specific to a single cause or a single movement. It is a universal way to denounce the United States' actions while still respecting the dignity and rights of the people living in or affiliated with the United States.

Today, free-the-people.us flies this flag as an act of legal protest, protected by our constitutional right to free speech, to denounce the authoritarian regime that currently holds unprecedented, unconstitutional, and unlawful political power.

Around the world, the Disgraced Flag of the United States of America can and should be flown to protest American imperialism against, oppression of, or aggression towards any nation, group, or individual in violation of the founding principles of the United States.

This is a flag of general outrage. Ideally, it will be flown alongside other flags that represent more targeted protests. For example, when protesting the totalitarian takeover of the United States, it should be flown alongside flags from countries being abused by the United States, such as Palestine, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, and all of our Central and South American neighbors. It should be flown alongside the Black Lives Matter flag, the LGBTQ+ pride flag, the trans pride flag, the pan African fist flag, the feminism flag, and too many others to list here because this regime is trampling on the rights of all of these groups. It is appropriate to fly this flag alongside other flags of protest, such as the red flag of revolution, the inverted American flag (a signal of distress), the Gadsden ("Don't tread on me") flag, and the standard American flag.

The Disgraced Flag's Design

We use the American flag as the baseline to reflect our pride in the founding principles of the United States of America, but intentionally alter it to represent our protest of the current state of the Union.

The color white in the American flag is broadly accepted as symbolizing purity and innocence. We have kept the color white in the 50 stars to ensure this symbolism is maintained, but we replace the white stripes with black to indicate those very values of purity and innocence are being blotted out by the shameful conduct of the nation.

You are free to use this flag to signal your protest against today's totalitarian takeover of the nation, or any past, present, or future acts of aggression, oppression, and imperialism taken by the United States at home or abroad.

Be aware that many of them only print on one side of the material, leaving the other side white or a faded version of the image. These flags may be better suited to displaying on a wall than flying outdoors.

The flag is very lightweight, meaning it flies well in even the lightest breeze. It appears to be sturdy and well-made. It wouldn't stand up to long-term outdoor use in harsh conditions, and it may fade easily over time, but we think it is ideal for carrying to a protest. We were able to buy ours for just under $15, including tax and shipping. Your price may vary depending on regular price fluctuations, taxes, and shipping costs.

  Note that this product is printed in China and shipped to the United States, so it can take a few weeks to receive your final product. When customizing the flag, we recommend the settings shown in the image below. We used the file disgraced-flag-10000x5263.jpg, and it produced a nice, crisp image. The is a mirror copy of the front, so everything lines up perfectly without one side bleeding into the other. Please understand that the right-hand portion of the image may extend beyond the printable area. This is perfectly fine, as long as the rest of the flag completely fills the print area.

  A word of caution: This Printify flag has vibrant colors, is made with high-quality materials, and is very sturdy. With that said, however, it is rather thick and heavy and we found that it didn't fly as well as some lighter/cheaper flags unless there was a considerable breeze. Also, due to the heavy fabric, our copy of this flag tore free of the top grommet after flying it for one day in a protest. We hand-stitched the grommet back on and hope it will hold up better in the future.
